BREAKING NEWS: Beaches of the tourist destination of Playa Dorada in Puerto Plata, where the Viva Wyndham Playa Dorada hotel is located received again the « Blue Flag » certification, the most important international recognition granted for environmental quality.

This international certification recognizes the beaches which fulfill environmental standards and safety for the bathers and for their installations, as well as for water quality, performance of general services, education and environmental information, access and security.

The « Blue Flag » certification is granted to the beaches in more than 30 countries of Europe, in South Africa, in New Zealand, in Canada, in Brazil and in the Caribbean.

This prestigious prize is part of the five programs of environment education operated by the « Non-Profit Organization », a foundation devoted to the environmental protection. The « Blue Flag » certification program started in France in 1997 to help to improve management of waste, as well as of planning and coastal protection.

All the blue flags are granted for one season and if one does not fill the criteria during the season or if the conditions change, the blue flag is withdrawn.

BREAKING NEWS: The under-secretary of State of Tourism for the Northern coast, Cesar José de Los Santos, underlined the great flow of national and foreign investments which take place in Puerto Plata and in other localities of the Northern coast of the Dominican Republic.

De Los Santos stressed the efforts carried out by the government so that company managers come to invest in the tourist destination of Puerto Plata.

He declared that this concern of President Leonel Fernández gave results because during the last months in the Southern and East areas and on the Northern coast, new tourist projects started, in which are inserted important consortia and company managers of various countries.

De Los Santos supported that the economic crisis situation which currently affects great nations like Europe and North America was transformed into factors which carried damage to all the poor countries, among them the Dominican Republic, which has a President who wants strengthening various sectors of currencies collecting in order to obtain that new investors know the potential which we have in the tourism field.

He revealed that the Secretariat of Tourism supported internationally our country so that the foreign company managers invest n hotels, restaurants and in other businesses related to the tourist activity.

In order to present his ambitious touristic project to the public, built in the beautiful Puerto Plata, the contractor Abraham Selman Hasbún offered a cocktail in the Mijas restaurant of the city, where the authorities of the tourism sector met, as well as friends and colleagues of the engineer.

The idea was to present its great summer complex, which design was realized by the architect Rafael Eduardo Selman.

As he talk about the advantages of the project, he said that the entrance to the lobby of the Golden Beach felt as paradise, in front of the wonderful beaches of the North Coast.

He thanked the Minister of Tourism for being there, and added that he felt honored by his presence.

I would like to start with a bit of history, our company began by a group of friends who united their efforts and their knowledges to reach the development of an enterprise of services of civil construction and hotel business.

Since this moment, 40 years ago, the IEMCA group continues being an enterprise that follows it’s slogan technology and effort at the service of progress.

We have maintained a rigorous respect for the construction laws and the professional ethic, in favor of the progress and the development of the country, without forgetting the well-being of the community.

BREAKING NEWS: PUERTO PLATA. - The Head Office of the Development of the Community (DGDC), carried out an operation of delivery of articles for the house to more than ninety families of Sabaneta de Yásica, affected by the by the rains recorded in this zone.

The day of donation of articles for the house included the distribution of gas cooker, gas, washing machines, refrigerators, beds, fans, televisions, pieces of furniture and other goods of domestic use.

Luis Acosta Moreta, explained that his presence in El Flamboyán de Sabaneta de Yásica to deliver the articles to the families affected by the floods constituted the achievement of a promise made by President Leonel Fernández to the inhabitants of this community.

Before the delivery of the pieces of furniture and electric household appliances, brigades of technicians and workmen of the organization worked on the repair of the houses affected by the natural phenomena in Puerto Plata.

Luis Acosta Moreta ensured that neither the DGDC nor President Fernández will leave to their fate the families affected by the floods in various points of the national territory.
