Condominium International Resort honors Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club

BREAKING NEWS: Puerto Plata.- Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club has received the second consecutive year, the award as a sales leader in the Caribbean during 2009, by the Condominium Resort International (RCI), which allows it to maintain its position within the top five clubs Holiday in the region.

The president of Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Holidays Vacation Club and Resort Lifestyle, Markus Wischenbart, personally received the award from RCI’s senior vice president for the Caribbean, Eugenio Macouzet, ant thanked the recognition obtained.

He also stated that We are honored that RCI has distinguished us again with this important award, which we consider as a significant achievement that enable us to continue to stand among the top five clubs in the region.

Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Resort is a resort located in Cofresi, Puerto Plata and is listed as the largest and most complete in the North Coast because it includes five products, which are: the Tropical Beach Resort, Crown Residence Suites, Lifestyle Crown Villas, Lifestyle Penthouses and Presidential Suites by Lifestyle.

Remodeling of Gregorio Luperon International Airport

BREAKING NEWS: Puerto Plata.- The business consortium Dominican Airports Century XXI (Aerodom) has announced the remodeling of the South Terminal of Las Americas Airport and Gregorio Luperon Airport, Puerto Plata, with an investment of 20 millions US $, equivalent to 720 billion pesos.

Raul Berroeta, executive director of Las Americas airport, during a press conference, said that the work of renovation of both air terminals will begin within 20 days, and that they will be made without affecting any flights.

Aerodom executive, who was accompanied by Yolanda Manan, manager of Communications and Public Relations of the Consortium, said that the work both of Las Americas and Gregorio Luperon airports will be ended between 18 to 24 months.

Mr. Berroeta explained that the renovation of the South Terminal of the Americas, involves all areas, including the facade of the airport, the counters of different airlines, shopping zone, offices and public and private entities as well as security agencies.

He also pointed out that with the expansion and remodeling of the south terminal of the Americas, the capacity for receiving and dispatching of aircraft and passengers will double. It stated that the investments are carried under the contract that Aerodom signed with the Dominican State.

The executive has stated that with the renovation of the South Terminal; the company offers users a more modern, friendly, with placement in different areas, of native elements, such as palma real and cigua palmera .

Building of the cruise ship terminal in Puerto Plata is started

For a cost of over one billion dollars

BREAKING NEWS: Puerto Plata.- Public Works Minister Victor Díaz Rúa has left the building work started in the cruise and commercial herbor of the city of Puerto Plata, which will cost more than 1,000 million pesos.

M. Díaz Rúa has reported that the implementation of these port facilities will begin immediately, in order to provide this city of the cruise terminal and a commercial port.

There is no reason why this province, which holds great potential for tourism, could not receive tourist vessels, as it happened in the 70’s, 80s and early 90s. M. Fernández has made us aware that Puerto Plata must be able to welcome cruise ships again, to further develop its maritime tourism said M. Díaz Rúa.

He explained that we must meet with the major cruise lines for their representatives to tell us their needs in terms of the terminal to be built.

He announced that the construction of cargo terminal will be in charge of the company Abbott.
