Managers of tour operator Thomas Cook will visit Puerto Plata

BEAKING NEWS:Puerto Plata.- The Minister of Tourism Francisco Javier Garcia, met with top executives oftour operator Thomas Cook, who will visit for a week destination Dominican Republic, mainly the area of Puerto Plata, with the aim of discovering their potential and sell the product in Germany.

Garcia reported that during the meeting with Thomas Cook, signed the cooperation agreement that will bring those 250 officers traveling to Puerto Plata, and also reaffirmed the agreement that is established between the Ministry of Tourism and the tour operators in Germany. The agreement took Roland Junker, Michael Tenzer, Beatrice Macias, among others.

We also signed an agreement for a mega fam trip to our destination, mainly the tourist resort of Puerto Plata, where the 250 participating travel agents who report the highest sales volume for this tour operator, has indicated.

During the meeting, Garcia was joined by Petra Fernandez Cruz, director of the Tourism Promotion Office (OPT) from Dominican Republic in Germany and Europe market supervisor, and Jose Gabriel Rodriguez, assistant to the Minister.

Ministry of Tourism willing to build cruise terminal

BEAKING NEWS: Puerto Plata.-Tourism Minister Francisco Javier Garcia said he expected that in any time the responsibility for building the cruise terminal in this city will pass to the Ministry of Tourism. Has indicated that it had a plan to execute in a timely way, construction or reconstruction of the tourist port.

He seems interested in Puerto Plata having a modern tourist and commercial port. García Fernández said that he was working in order to quickly reestablish the cruises tourism, and then to stimulate Puerto Plata economy.

Regarding the enlargement of the Puerto Plata-Navarrete highway, Garcia said he spoke with Public Works Minister, Victor Díaz Rúa, and that he ensured him that this work will start in a short time.

He also said it will be of great importance for promoting internal tourism in the Dominican Republic north coast.
